This product contains 8 Elements of Art Handouts that explain how to use the Elements of Art to express mood and feeling. I digitally designed each handout and showed examples of each element and how to use it to express emotions. Each component has one handout: line, color, texture, shape, value, space, and form. I have found that students often know what the elements of art are, but when it comes to figuring out how to get them to express their thoughts and ideas, they need to see examples. All elements of art handouts have lots of pictures and visuals showing how to alter the mood of an artwork using each element.

In the beginning, students are intimidated by art and think they need to know how to draw well to express themselves. These elements of art handouts stress that drawing skills are not necessary to create art with meaning. They are great for introducing any art project that requires creative thinking, mark-making, drawing, or challenges students to tell a story or illustrate an idea.
