Product Description
This lesson is meant to follow my INTRODUCTION TO CONTOUR LINE lesson or students should have an understanding of how to use contour lines prior to beginning this lesson.
In this project, students use contour lines to create several contour drawings using the included photos as a reference. They take the drawings and trace one of their favorites onto watercolor paper and have it extend outside of a frame to add dimension. Next, they experiment with watercolors and patterns to add interest and personality to their design. Included are teacher instructions, tips, and suggestions for each stage of the project, 33 different reference images of succulents and plants in PDF form for students to draw from, a video demonstration showing how to set up the paper, transfer a contour line drawing, and add watercolor and pattern. This is a great introduction to watercolor and is a perfect project to get students to loosen up and think outside of the box.
