Drawing and Shading Hair for Middle School High School Visual Art Lesson
These drawing art worksheets are excellent for developing sub-plans or practicing drawing portraits. They work great for beginners through advanced middle or high school art classes. Each worksheet contains a link to the video demonstrations, rubrics, and reference photos. They are simple to follow and contain everything students need in one place. They can be shared through Google Classroom or any digital platform you are using.
This art lesson teaches students how to draw hair using graphite and or charcoal. They learn how to create smooth transitions of value and break the hair into a series of shapes. It is perfect to ease them into portrait drawing, as a substitute assignment, as a benchmark assessment, or early finisher assignment.
Students can view the video from any device which is great when they are absent, miss a demonstration, or need a review. They are great to have when you teach multiple levels of art at a time. If one group is ready to move on they can watch the demonstration from their phones, Chromebooks, or ipads and get started immediately.
It contains:
- Four worksheets with hair reference images and links to video demonstrations
- An instructional handout with drawing tips specific to hair
- A video presentation
- Rubrics for easy grading.
- QR codes that students can scan with their phones to quickly access videos from their own devices even if they do not share the lesson digitally.
