This value and shading art worksheet bundle is a great addition to your middle school art or high school art curriculum. The shading worksheets can be used year after year, as in an introduction to shading and value lessons, as emergency sub plans, or as a skill builder leading up to a larger drawing and shading project.

Students learn beginner shading techniques and draw simple geometric shapes using the reference images on the worksheets. Keeping the forms small and easy helps beginner artists isolate the new drawing skill and builds confidence fast.

It points out common beginner mistakes and teaches students self-awareness, what to look for, and how to observe the image.
